Interview with Rena
- What was your hardest scene to write?
The scene where Rachel found out Josh betrayed and was unfaithful to her was brutal to write. I had just experienced that in my life. I cried as I wrote that scene.
- What is your favorite childhood book?
All of Arnold Lobel’s Frog and Toad books. One of the stories is called The List. Poor Toad was lost when the wind blew his list of what to do for the day away. I can so relate to Toad.
- Who is the author you most admire in your genre?
Brodie Thoene. I love her Zion Chronicles.
- What do you like to do when you are not writing?
I love to read, garden, I am starting Lavender Lane B & B May 1st, I am an artist, and I have an online course called Broken to Beautiful to encourage women who feel they are not enough.
- If you could invite one person to dinner, who would it be and what would you cook?
That’s an interesting question. Does that mean anyone from anytime in history? How could you possibly only choose one person? There are so many people I am so excited about meeting in Heaven.
I do have a special friend I have invited to a shabbat meal at the end of the month. Bill told me his favorite meal is rib-eye steak…but he will have to BBQ the steaks. I’m afraid if I used the BBQ I might blow up the house. You asked about the menu. We will have my grandmother’s recipe for garlic chicken soup, rib-eye steak, roasted vegetables, salad, baked potato (with sour cream, butter, chives) and cheesecake. Are you hungry yet? You’re invited too. There will be lots.
Thank you for letting us get to know you better!
