More from Luann

SOUL MEND was written to break people out of their emotional chains! I know first hand what such things as anxiety, strife, guilt, and unforgiveness feel like. I know first hand how devasting these emotions can be on the physical body. After walking through some of these issues and recovering from a debilitating diagnosis I decided it was time to go back to school, get my counseling degree, and help other people!  In SOUL MEND I cover the three sources of negative thinking and how they impact our emotional and physical health. There are chapters on; a broken heart, stress, guilt, self-reproach, anxiety, and anger/bitterness.  Each chapter contains study questions to help the reader identity and heal from toxic emotions. The book ends on a uplifting and encouraging note on how God created you to walk in His destiny and His goodness. There is always a purpose in your pain and the Bible is clear that what the enemy meant for evil God promises to turn around for God when we seek Him (Genesis 50:20, Romans 8:28). I am excited to go on this journey with you and help you discover the healing and destiny that awaits you

Q&A with Luann Dunnuck

  1. If you could invite one person to dinner who would it be and what would you cook?

I would invite Gloria Copeland. I’ve had to live by faith and the love of God to survive various trials.  She has good fruit in her life! I admire her wisdom and years of experience. I want to learn from her. I have several of her books so in a sense I do learn from her writings. I am a very healthy eater, I would probably make baked chicken, rice, and salad. I love “healthy” desserts so I would make my healthy chocolate cakes.

  1. Does writing energize or exhaust you?

Writing most definitely energizes me!! The interesting thing about writing is once I feel inspired to write, the content comes pouring out of me. There have been times when I do not feel inspired and I will sit and look at the computer screen. I have learned that about myself – to wait for the inspiration to write, when that happens, time flies and its almost difficult for me to pull away from writing!

  1. Share something your readers wouldn’t know about you?

I love the beach! There is something so calming about being near the water. Many times I would bring my laptop to the shore to write another chapter but once I got near the ocean I turn into a bowl of jelly unable to do anything but relax!

  1. What books or authors have most influenced your own writing?

One author that I have learned a great deal from in regards to scientific research is Dr. Caroline Leaf.  I enjoy just about everything she has written; books and articles!

  1. Favorite quote?

I actually have two. The first one is; “Self worth is not created, it’s discovered” and the second one is; “Let food be your medicine so medicine doesn’t have to be your food”. I am not sure who wrote either of these but I like them both!

Thank you Luann for your time in letting us get to know you better!
