Unassailable Interview and Giveaway

About the Book

Book: Unassailable

Author:K.J. Rowe

Genre: Teen/Young Adult

Release date: June 18, 2024

To be picture perfect on the outside can cause people to think you have it all together on the inside. Which is exactly the case for Hope Meyer.

Stuck in a dead-end job with no vision for her future, parents arguing at home and newly-single under terms she bitterly objects to, Hope puts on a brave front in the face of friends. Only, she’s not as subtle as she thinks. Called out on her pretense by a close friend and, drawn into a mission project that causes her to question everything she’s been led to believe, Hope finds herself floundering.

Until recently, the perfect hair, manicured nails, a wardrobe straight out of a fashion magazine and a handsome suitor by her side had defined her. Now seeing those things as insignificant, and understanding why her boyfriend left, Hope turns to her youth minister for help; with one burning question in mind:

Who was she?

Set on a path of self-discovery, Hope finds her day to day both unraveling and piecing together like a jigsaw as her perception begins to alter.

Will she embrace how God defines her and ultimately learn what true happiness is?

About the Author

Since I could hold a pencil, I’ve be writing.

In primary school, I wrote stories about my pets, my own version of princess stories, a classroom crush…

In high school, I wrote stories about horses, adventures, my sister…

However, as strong as the writing hobby was, I still pursued a career in Veterinary Nursing.

It wasn’t until God intervened and moved me out of the city and into a small country town to be a farmer’s wife, that he resurfaced the writing desire – and gave me the stories. So was born my debut series, each book holding a part of my own testimony, Casts of Silver.

It is my prayer that you enjoy the journey these stories take you on, and that they challenge, encourage and inspire you.

More from K.J.

Hey! Thanks for stopping by!

Casts of Silver is my debut five book series. The series is centered around five youth group leaders, with the stories looking at very real circumstances that young people face in today’s world without sugar coating consequences of individual actions.

However, God is always at work.

But where is He when problems arise?

Well, He is always closer than you think and He’s always working for your good!

Enjoy.
God Bless

Interview with the Author

1. What do you like to do when you are not writing?
When I am not writing I like to play catch up! Catchup with house work,
gardening and practising music – not to mention re-filling the cookie jars for
hungry little children!

2. How do you select the names of your characters?
The main characters of Casts of Silver appeared in my head with the stories
one night. Axillary characters names are simply selected from names I like.

3. What was your hardest scene to write?
I found a number of scenes in Unassailable difficult to write because of the
theme’s it addresses. God has called us to live to a high standard, and this
book addresses elements of that, so to handle that without potentially
offending the reader, was a challenge but a very rewarding challenge.

4. What is your favorite childhood book?
I was an inexhaustible reader growing up and spent a lot of time at our local
library, and in my school’s library. However, I would have to say my favourite
childhood book, came from my Dad’s readers when he was in school.
Namely, the books: ‘Black Beauty” by Anna Sewell, “Lad: A dog” by Albert
Payson Terhune, “Call of the Wild” by Jack London, and “Silver Chief” by Jack
O’Brien. I cannot pick which was my favourite. But as soon as I was old
enough, I got myself a Rough Collie as a pet – so, maybe “Lad: A dog” by a
whisker. (Pardon the pun), Although soon as I started writing, I wrote stories
about horses, so jury is out there.
These books my dad gave me, I still have in my library, and I look forward to
when my kids will be able to read them.

5. If you had to do something differently as a child or teenager to become a
better writer as an adult, what would you do?
Even though I was an avid reader since I could hold a book, I was never very
good in the subject of English throughout school. Concepts that my long-
suffering teachers tried to teach me, now I’m putting them into practise are
starting to stick – I have since written to them to let them know this! But,
looking back I would have sought out the help of a tutor to help me through
this subject.
